@cherstyler –crazy. i agree, these albums are some of her best work and should totally be rereleased. they are the reason i got a turntable! it was a time when she really came into her own sound and it holds up after all this time

I remember hearing this for the first time and being blown away. I think this album got lost because she was on TV at the time every week and people could see her for free on TV rather than buying records. This song is great and Geronimo’s Cadillac and the 75 version of Love Hurts were also CLASSSICS!!

This is some of her best vocal work ever….it is unfortunate Warner Bros. refuses to re-release it !
I am not sure why Warner Bros.Records has never re-released ‘Stars’, ‘I’d Rather Believe in You’, or ‘Cherished’…….nor why Cher has never demanded it. Some of her best vocal work ever can be found in this trio of albums, ‘Stars’ being the best. I worked as a roadie on “The Sonny and Cher Divorce Tour” in D.C back in ’74….the lady has been my girl since then…….it is unfortunate she hasn’t found her way back to the ‘southern californian country/rock’ that is her home.
If Cher owns the masters to STARS she would make her fans VERY HAPPY by releasing it on cd! “Just This One Time” is one of her greatest, most sublime performances EVER. Listen to her voice soar at 3:41: AWESOME!! It’s hard to believe that the reviews and sales were so poor, but she had DARED to leave Sonny! Then she took up with gorgeous (and troubled) blues rock god Gregg Allman. Backlash was inevitable. I wish Cher would record superb songs like this again. The world is ready now, Babe!
stars is a great albumgot two copies they were cut outs in the 80s but who cares just to see cher lit up with xmas lights this pic also appeared on her and sonny’s show when she sang jeronimos cadillac love cher for ever m
Just read something interesting in Billboard…all these years fans have been complaining that Cher’s four Warner Bros. albums from the 70′s are not on CD, and come to find out, Cher owns the masters! C’mon, Cher, what gives? At least remaster “Stars” and put it on CD. We’ve been begging….
She is so underrated, because Cher is an amazing vocalist. This is just another cher song that proves that. She really hit the high notes in this song!

Okay, I must admit, I found an extra brand new unopened copy of this album somewhere in the 80s and bought it. I am saving it for a special occasion.

This album personifies Cher to me, I always think of her in this setting, with that look from the back cover of “Stars” -laid back and cool, no pretensions. “Just This One Time” is the best song she’s ever done.
